Late Inning Woes Doom Astros

On a night where the Astros went 1-8 with runners in scoring position, it was a one run ballgame leading into the 8th inning.

Roberto Osuna had two on and two out in the 8th when he hit Brock Holt on the foot to load the bases followed by plunking Mitch Moreland in the back to make the score 4-2 in favor of the Red Sox. Jackie Bradley Jr. cleared the bases with a grand slam to extend the lead to 8-2 which eventually was the final score.

Dallas Keuchel surrendered two runs early in the top of the first but settled in for 5.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER and 2 BB. Marwin Gonzalez drove in a run in the bottom of the first to cut the lead to 2-1. Alex Bregman tied the game at 2 with an RBI double in the 5th but that would be all the scoring on the night for the Astros.

With the loss, the Red Sox take a 2-1 ALCS series lead.

Game four will be tomorrow with first pitch slated for 7:39PM CT from Minute Maid Park.
